Rotherham 1-1 Barnsley

Richie Barker grabbed a point for Rotherham after Barnsley had taken a second-half lead at snow-covered Millmoor.

Chris Morgan's power header put the Tykes in front after 50 minutes but Ronnie Moore's never-say-die United levelled soon after.

But despite the treacherous conditions both teams carved out good chances in a goalless first half.

The best of them fell Rotherham's way with Barnsley keeper Kevin Miller twice being forced into double saves.

At the other end Mike Pollitt had his moments, making good saves from Darren Barnard after 26 minutes and Mike Sheron after 31 minutes.

But Chris Sedgwick, on the right for Rotherham, suddenly found his feet and he set up the best chance of the half after 34 minutes when he crossed for Barker.

His header was brilliantly saved by Miller and then Steve Chettle blocked Nick Daws' follow-up shot on the line.

Unfortunate injury

But within three minutes of the re-start Rob Scott limped off for Rotherham and while the home side were down to 10 men Barnsley grabbed the lead.

After 50 minutes Barnsley won their first corner, Barnard flighted a perfect cross which Morgan met with a power header that Pollitt was powerless to stop.

But Rotherham took just eight minutes to equalise.

Daws played a great ball over Barnsley's back four for Barker to chase and as Miller powered out of his goal Barker calmly lobbed into the empty net for his first goal of the season.

But with defences on top there was little more goal-mouth action until Warne flashed a shot across Miller's goal with only minutes to go.
