Sturridge joins Wolves
Leicester's Dean Sturridge is surplus to the club's striking requirements according to Dave Bassett
Sturridge has scored three goals this season
Leicester City striker Dean Sturridge has joined Wolves on a month's loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

"Dean has joined Wolves for a month and if he impresses it could lead to a permanent move," said Leicester manager Dave Bassett.

"I've had a chat with Dean and we agree it would be best for him to move on.

"He is surplus to what I want and there is no point in really keeping him. This is a good opportunity for him.

"James Scowcroft has now fully recovered and I think we've got enough strikers at the club.

If Scowcroft hadn't got himself fully fit I'd have kept Sturridge but I feel he's ready."

Sturridge had joined Leicester from Derby County for 350,000 in January 2001.

He has scored three times this season for Leicester.

It is expected he will be ready to play in Wolves's match with Wimbledon on Saturday.
