Highlights - Cardiff 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Joe Mason's second half header extends Cardiff's unbeaten run to seven games following victory over Nottingham Forest.

Joe Mason's second half header extended Cardiff's unbeaten run to seven games after victory over Nottingham Forest.

Cardiff had found it hard to break down Forest in the first half with Aron Gunnarsson going close.

Forest continued to frustrate until 20 minutes from time when substitute Mason's bullet header, from Peter Whittingham's delivery, beat Lee Camp.

Paul Anderson twice went close to securing a point for Forest late on.

There was little to excite the fans during the opening 20 minutes and Kenny Miller's effort which cleared the crossbar from 12 yards was as close as Cardiff got.

For the visitors Marcus Tudgay got a shot on target midway through the first half but his effort did not trouble Cardiff keeper David Marshall.

Forest looked very dangerous on the break with the pace of Findley causing problems for the home defence.

They continued to be stubborn opponents in the second half with defender Kevin McNaughton forced to try his luck from long range.

The breakthrough came with 20 minutes remaining when Mason, a second half replacement for Conway, headed home his fourth goal of the season.

The former Plymouth Argyle striker headed home in-form Whittingham's right-wing cross from 12 yards to give his side the lead.

Substitute Paul Anderson had two chances to rescue a late point for the visitors but Cardiff held on to secure their first win in five attempts over Forest.
