Clockwatch: Bolton 3-0 Preston
Gareth Farrelly, Michael Ricketts and Ricardo Gardner score as Bolton beat Preston in the Division One Play-Off final at the Millennium Stadium.

Full-time: Bolton 3-0 Preston

92: Ricardo Gardner rounds off the Bolton win in style. He picks the ball up in his own half, runs onto the Preston goal and powers in a left-foot angled shot.
Bolton 3-0 Preston

91: Substitution - Mike Whitlow is on for Holdsworth.

89: This time Rickett's makes no mistake as he collects Farrelly's ball, rounds keeper Lucas and slots in.
Bolton 2-0 Preston

87: At the other end Gregan's dipping shot goes over with time running out for Preston.

86: Ricketts has the chance to all but seal the win for Bolton only to shoot into the side-netting.

84: Clarke gets a vital punch away to a Healy cross with two Preston players waiting to capitalise if he failed.

From the resultant corner, Clarke misses his punch and Cresswell is given little time to react as he glances a header wide.

82: Substitution - Richard Cresswell replaces Paul McKenna for Preston.

79: Substitution - Bolton's Robbie Elliott comes on for midfielder Per Frandsen.

77: Macken chests down a ball into the path of Rankine but he fails to find the direction and power with his left-foot shot to trouble keeper Clarke.

70: Substitution - Michael Rickett's replaces fellow Bolton forward Hansen.

68: A superb reaction save low to his left by Matt Clarke denies Healy, who was given his shooting opportunity thanks to Macken's good work in holding up and passing a long Preston ball.

65: Substitution - Preston's Iain Anderson comes on for Cartwright.

65: Edwards slides ball through to Rankine in the Bolton box but the midfielder's turn and shot is wide.

62: Farrelly squares the ball for Holdsworth just outside the Preston box. The striker tries to steer a shot into the corner but keeper Lucas excellently dives low to his left to again rescue his team.

57: Healy is coming more into the game as Preston search for an equaliser and the former Manchester United striker is persistently causing Bolton concern.

54: Preston are showing more threat in the second-half.

Healy provides a threatening cross into the Botlon area for Macken but he cannot reach the ball under pressure from the Bolton defence.

53: Bolton's Gardner slides a ball into the path of the in-rushing Kevin Nolan and his shot on the Preston goal is turned away for a corner by Lucas.

48: Preston midfielder Mark Rankine receives an instantly chipped ball into the Bolton area, but strikes a tame and disappointing angled shot which keeper Clarke comfortably gathers.

47: Holdsworth is released on the right. He cuts back and passes to the unmarked Anthony Barness, whose diagonal and powerful shot goes easily over.

46: Preston get the second-half underway as they look to pull a goal back.

Half-time: Bolton 1-0 Preston

43: Preston defender Graham Alexander mistakenly glances a header into the path of Bolton rival rival Hansen.

His resultant dipping snap-shot from just outside the area is just over.

40: Ryan Kidd gets in a vital interception on Farrelly's low cross with two Bolton players lurking with intent in the Preston area.

38: A risky back-header by Colin Murdock puts Preston in trouble before they are rescued, somewhat fortunately, by the referee's whistle after he adjudges Hansen to have fouled Lucas.

32: Ricardo Gardner provides an instant shot across goal from a long diagonal ball into the Preston area and the busy Lucas again saves.

30: Bolton are bossing the game with Preston managing to hang on and keep themselves within touching distance.

24: Bolton try to take advantage of a rattled Preston and Holdsworth is released on goal only for Lucas to pull off an important save at close quarters.

Gudni Bergsson then finds space at the far post but heads over.

20: Bo Hansen shows some neat skill in midfield and plays a one-two with Farrelly to create a shooting opportunity. But his effort lacks the power to trouble Lucas.

16: Preston fail to clear a long Bolton free-kick into their area. The ball falls to Gareth Farrelly just outside the box and he drives in the opening goal past the despairing dive of goalkeeper David Lucas.
Bolton 1-0 Preston

12: Preston earn two successive corners only for the Bolton defence to clear on each occasion.

9: Lee Cartwright whips in a cross for Preston and Healy gets a touch at the near post, but defender Colin Hendry importantly blocks.

5: A lively start to the game and the best early chance falls to Jonathan Macken.

His strike partner David Healy crosses only for Macken to head straight at goalkeeper Matt Clarke from close range.

1 min: Bolton kick-off and are immediately on the attack. They earn a corner but the Preston defence are up to the task.
