West Brom 1-3 Fulham
Sean Davis
Sean Davis found the net after just four minutes
A Sean Davis double knocked the wind out of West Brom as Fulham stayed firmly on course for the Premiership.

Des Lyttle reduced the arrears for Albion with his first goal for the club.

But Fulham's new 2m signing Andre Stolcers crowned his debut with the late goal that guaranteed victory.

The dangerous Davis took just four minutes to open his account, finding the target with a marvellous back header from a corner by Bjarne Goldbaek.

He made it 2-0 in the 28th minute, spotting keeper Brian Jensen off his line and lashing home a terrific shot from 30 yards.

Albion, defeated just twice in their previous 18 league outings, were chasing their fifth successive victory in a run that had taken them to third in the table.

No mistake

But their only moment of glory against the table-toppers came in the 71st minute courtesy of Lyttle's strike.

He made no mistake after keeper Maik Taylor did well to fingertip away a goal-bound drive from Richard Sneekes.

The scoreline was completed three minutes from time with a fine goal from Stolcers who only picked up his work permit this week.

The Latvian dribbled his way past an Albion defender before planting a well-placed shot beyond the helpless Jensen.

In the first half Albion were unlucky with a 25-yarder from the hardworking Sneekes that rattled the crossbar.

Then, moments later, keeper Taylor made a superb save when he dived to push away a left-footer from Neil Clement.
