Dartford manager Tony Burman targets the playoff places
Dartford are currently top of the Blue Square Bet South
Dartford manager Tony Burman has said his side are targeting a place in the playoffs this season.
The Darts currently sit at the top of the Blue Square Bet South following three wins and a draw from their opening four fixtures.
Burman told BBC Radio Kent: "I'm not saying we're going to win the league. I feel that we're capable of finishing in the playoffs."
Dartford finished 10th in the Blue Square Bet South last season.
They travel to Chelmsford City on Saturday before a local derby against Bromley on Bank Holiday Monday.
Burman said that the heavy schedule had been tough but his players were constantly getting better.
"It's a difficult time with six games in 16 days. Chelmsford have always been the favourites when we've played them but we're improving all the time."
Prior to the season, the Dartford manager set his side a target of 10 points from their first six matches, a total they have achieved already having played just four.
Buoyed by their early form, Burman said the mood in the dressing room could propel them to the brink of promotion.
"If you haven't got the players behind you, you're in trouble. Braintree proved that last year.
"We proved it ourselves coming up from the Ryman Premier and we've got a changing room that's buzzing."
