Lewes to announce playing budget to supporters

Lewes manager Steve King

Lewes director Patrick Marber says they will let their fans know what their playing budget will be for next season.

Former manager Steve King has returned to take charge at the Dripping Pan, and will lead the team in the Ryman Premier Division next season.

"We're very clear what our playing budget is," Marber told the BBC's Non League Show.

"Last year we announced it to the supporters at a fans' forum and we'll do the same again."

Marber added: "It allows our fans to appreciate what we are dealing with.

"As a community and a supporter-owned club we think it is the right thing to do. That's always been our policy.

"Steve has agreed to work with the same playing budget we offered to all the other candidates for the job."
