Reef wants a big crowd at Tatham Park for the FA Vase fifth round tie

Poole Town vice-chairman Chris Reeves says his side can cause an upset when they face Spennymoor Town in the FA Vase fifth round on Saturday.

The Northern League champions are the favourites to win the trophy while Poole, who beat St Ives 3-2 in the last round, are fifth favourites.

"Spennymoor are a strong side, so it's exciting," The Dolphins vice-chairman told BBC Radio Solent.

"The last round stands us in good stead, so we believe we have a chance."

The Dolphins have already enjoyed a decent run in the FA Cup this season, after reaching the fourth qualifying round before being knocked out by Blue Square Bet Premier side Hayes & Yeading.

The FA Cup tie recorded an attendance of 1,219 at Tatnam Ground and Reef hopes this Saturday's fixture against Spennymoor will attract a similar number.

"There's a huge amount of interest being shown in this match and I'd be disappointed if we didn't get 700. I think we could even push nearer the four figure mark," continued Reeves.

"Spennymoor told us that they expect to bring up to 120 supporters, which is terrific bearing in mind the distance.

"But that just demonstrates the strengths of both clubs and the level of interest that's being shown in this tie."

Poole, who are currently second in the Wessex Premier Division, will receive £1,300 in prize money if they win the tie.
