Garry Hill has been appointed as the new manager of Blue Square Bet South Woking until the end of the season.

Hill has previously led both Dagenham & Redbridge and Weymouth to promotion to the top flight of non-league football.

He told BBC Surrey: "It's an opportunity for me and I'm flattered to be joining Woking.

"I feel there is a challenge to build something and try and get results, and trying to impress with a style of football to take the club forward."

He added: "I feel there are some good players there and some of the results this season have proved that.

"There's been a lack of consistency. I think the supporters have had a raw deal over the last few seasons."

The Cards, who are 11th in the table, parted company with Graham Baker on Wednesday after he declared his unhappiness to the board over continuing in his role.

Hill's first match in charge will be away to Weston-super-Mare on Saturday.
