Ian Hutchinson sacked as Weymouth manager

Weymouth

Weymouth have confirmed that manager Ian Hutchinson has been sacked, after just six wins in 26 games this season.

A club statement said: "It was regrettably but unanimously agreed to relieve Ian Hutchinson of his duties as manager of the football club.

"The board would like to put on record its gratitude to Ian for his efforts on behalf of Weymouth Football Club and wish him well for the future."

Terras are bottom of the Zamaretto League Premier Division with 11 points.

The news of Hutchinson's departure comes just one month after Weymouth chairman, George Rolls said he wanted to offer the manager a contract extension at the club.

This is not the first time Hutchinson has been sacked by Rolls.

The Terras boss left for "non-footballing reasons" in January 2010, but was re-appointed three months later when his successor Jerry Gill quit after just 44 days in charge.

Weymouth were deducted 10 points at the start of this season having gone into administration and the board of directors have said they are hoping to announce the appointment of a caretaker manager within the next 24 hours.
