Redditch Utd 0-1 Harrogate Town

Redditch United

Redditch United remain in the Blue Square Bet North relegation zone after a 1-0 home defeat by Harrogate Town.

Steve Bowey netted the decisive goal on the hour mark as Harrogate made it two wins in Worcestershire in eight days.

The Yorkshire club, who recorded their first back-to-back wins of the season, also picked up three points when they ran out 3-2 victors at Worcester City.

Redditch finished the game with 10 men after Marlon Walters was sent off for a challenge on Lee Ellington.

Redditch United manager Matt Gardiner told BBC Hereford & Worcester:
"The situation surrounding other people's resources in this league means it is proper David and Goliath stuff.

"Obviously everybody is after forwards but Phil Green has come in today and he has done well - he hit the crossbar.

"Sam Malsom had a good game as well and we have created some good chances and we had a few one-on-ones at the end."

Harrogate manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York:
"I thought it was well deserved. A lot of positives to come out of the game again like last week.

"The defensive aspects were really sharp. To say we've got two 19-year olds as centre-halves they played like seasoned pros.

"But all round, it's hard to pinpoint individuals because it was a fantastic team performance."
