Matthew Barnes-Homer hit his first goal for the Hatters in six matches
Luton saw off Blue Square Bet Premier leaders AFC Wimbledon in style as they climbed to second in the table.
The Hatters dominated the first half, George Pilkington nodding in a 23rd minute corner before Czech defender Zdenek Kroca headed in from six yards.
The Dons nearly scored before the break when Steven Gregory's 20-yard effort hit the crossbar.
But Matthew Barnes-Homer fired home from 20 yards four minutes into the second half, his seventh of the season.
After starting the season on fire with five goals in three games, it was Barnes-Homer's first strike in six matches.
The Hatters dominated the first half and, after Barnes-Homer had hit the post with an eighth-minute overhead kick, they deservedly went in front when Andy Drury's corner was nodded home by Pilkington before Kroca headed another.
And, in front of another healthy gate of 7,283, Barnes-Homer wrapped up the Hatters' fifth win in nine league games - to move within two points of the Dons.
