Eastbourne Borough 1-1 Darlington

Nine-man Eastbourne came from behind to rescue a draw at home to Darlington.

Neil Jenkins was shown a straight red for his challenge on Gary Smith and two minutes later goalkeeper Rikki Banks was sent off for deliberate handball.

Midfielder Matt Smart had to play in goal for the last hour and Darlington took advantage when Chris Senior headed home Paul Arnison's cross.

But the home side persisted and equalised when Matt Crabb's corner found the head of forward Jamie Taylor.

Darlington assistant manager Richard Dryden explains the absence of boss Mark Cooper at the post-match interview and assesses the team's performance with BBC Tees:

"He's (Cooper) frightened he'll say something he'll regret in the heat of the moment.

"It's desperately disappointing. If you go 1-0 up then realistically if you're a side with anything about you, you've got the game won against nine men.

"You keep the ball, get the ball wide and get your crosses in but I can't remember the keeper making three or four saves.

"We were unprofessional and there will be changes. We've given people a lot of chances but if we're not hitting the target then other people have got to come in.

"We need someone who is going to stick the ball in the net, crosses are coming in and no one seems to be interested in getting their head on the end of it."
