Wrexham 2-2 Kidderminster

Blue Square Bet Premier

Two goals from Nick Wright saw Kidderminster fight back for a draw.

Harriers could not clear a long throw-in as David Brown's looped header put Wrexham ahead, then a rasping 25-yard Dean Keates volley doubled the lead.

Brown nearly made it three with a long-range shot, but on the stroke of half-time Keith Briggs' long ball set up Wright who finished with composure.

Briggs was again provider after the break, Wright neatly slotting his cross from the left into the bottom corner.

The visitors pushed on in search of a winner, but Wrexham held firm and managed to restrict them to very few clear opportunities.

Both sides are tied near the foot of the table on four points, not having recorded a win since their opening games of the season.

The angry Racecourse crowd chanted their disapproval at the end, voicing displeasure at Wrexham manager Dean Saunders.

Wrexham manager Dean Saunders:
"After going 2-0 up I'm disappointed we haven't won the game, but we never got beat and have no divine right to beat Kidderminster.

"It should have been 3-0 but then they scored on the stroke of half-time.

"Everybody got nervous because it was our game to lose then."

Kidderminster manager Steve Burr told BBC Hereford & Worcester:
"We shifted things around a little bit because obviously we needed to and we got a goal just before half-time which gave us a chance.

"In the second half the lads did well and they were a little bit aggrieved we didn't get a penalty right at the end although I didn't see it myself.

"After the first 10 minutes I was pleased to take a point but over all - especially in the second half - perhaps we should have gone on and won it."
