Salisbury City to make job cuts after double demotion

Salisbury City

Staff at Salisbury City are due to find out this week whether they will keep their jobs.

The club's owners have announced there will be "off the pitch" redundancies following their double relegation from the Blue Square Premier.

The Whites have been demoted to the Southern League Premier Division next season for breaching Football Conference rules on unpaid debt.

Tommy Widdrington has already confirmed that he will stay on as manager.

He is now due to hold talks with the squad having learned that his budget will be almost the same as it was last season.

Salisbury have confirmed that they will be appointing a full-time chief executive and have another investor set to join the club.

The job cuts will be made so the players can be kept on full-time.
