Alfreton Town squad taking shape - Nicky Law

Nicky Law
Law's side reached the Blue Square North play-off final this year

Alfreton Town central defender Kyle McFadzean has become the ninth player to commit his future to the Blue Square North club for next season.

McFadzean, 23, joins last season's top scorer Paul Clayton in signing a contract until May 2012.

Ian Ross, Anton Brown, Aden Flint, Liam Hearn, Anthony Howell, Dominic Roma and Ben Mills have signed one-year deals.

Boss Nicky Law said: "It was important we get the core strength of the squad tied up as soon as possible."

And Law, who guided the Reds to the play-offs for the second successive season, added: "We have negotiations ongoing with several other players as well as chasing new targets.

"Kyle is a big part of what we are trying to achieve, and if we are going to achieve things we have got to keep our best young players. We are obviously delighted with Kyle's decision to stay."
