Relegation-haunted Grays Athletic slumped to their eight straight league defeat as they failed to overcome a defiant Salisbury rearguard action.
After hitting the bar inside just three minutes through Jamie Guy, the home side fell behind when Bradley Gray set up Matt Tubbs' 28th-minute opener.
The home side then struck the woodwork for a second time through Harlee Dean.
But, despite forcing the play, Grays cruelly made to pay in injury time when Sean Clohessy added Salisbury's second.
Grays are now 11 points adrift of safety, but Salisbury have soared seven points clear of danger.
And Tommy Widdrington's men have bounced back well from last Saturday's 5-0 hammering at Altrincham with two wins in five days, having also progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy on Tuesday night.
