Grays Athletic 0-3 Rushden & Diamonds

Rushden & Diamonds missed two penalties but eased past lowly Grays Athletic.

Aaron O'Connor latched onto a Lee Tomlin pass to slot the ball past Richard Martin to put Diamonds ahead.

Jonathon Glowacki fouled Tomlin in the area and although Michael Corcoran saw his penalty saved by Martin, he headed number two from the resulting corner.

Martin brought down Craig Farrell for a second penalty and although Jefferson Louis saw his effort saved, he made it 3-0 on the rebound.

Rushden & Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh:
"It was a good performance.

"We could have had more goals but on a difficult surface, we passed the ball well.

"Obviously at 1-0, one mistake could have let Grays back in. And looking back, that's the fifth penalty we've missed. They've cost us at crucial times this year.

"But it was a decent clean sheet, and I thought we were professional from back to front today."
