Wire beat Cables in local derby

Warrington Town took the spoils as they beat local rivals Prescot Cables 2-1 in the Unibond North on Tuesday.

Michael Grogan opened the scoring for the Wire and Aaron Rey equalised for the home side.

But Tony Evans scored the winner to take Warrington above their rivals on goal difference in 10th position.

Meanwhile, Skelmersdale United beat AFC Fylde 4-0 to go 3rd, while in the Unibond South, struggling Cammell Laird drew 2-2 with Rushall Olympic.
