Players owe fans apology - Scott

Boston United

Boston United joint-manager Rob Scott felt their fans deserved an apology after the Pilgrims were held to a 0-0 FA Trophy draw by unfancied Quorn.

They now face a second qualifying round replay at Sutton Park on Tuesday.

And Scott told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I think apologies should come from the players to the fans for the performance because they've let themselves down.

"It was nowhere near good enough. That wasn't a team of ours. No-one showed any spark, any nous, any bravery."

Mikel Suarez went closest for Boston, hitting the bar with a header, but they were unable to break down their Unibond First Division South opponents.

And Scott admits: "We've now got a game on Tuesday night where they owe the fans a performance, as well as us and themselves."

The winners of the replay are drawn at home to Blue Square North side Vauxhall Motors in the third qualifying round on 21 November.

Elsewhere, Lincoln United claimed their first home victory of the season in the Unibond First Division South with a 2-1 victory over Rushall Olympic 2-1.

Matt O'Halloran grabbed a 90th minute winner for the Whites after Brendan McDaid's opener had been cancelled out.

Spalding United went down 4-3 to Market Drayton Town, despite a hat-trick from Simon Mowbray.

Tony Battersby and Ricky Miller were on target as Stamford won 2-0 at Cammell Laird, while Grantham Town lost 3-1 to Chasetown at the Meres, the Gingerbreads' goal coming from Adam Jones.
