Luton 2-1 Tamworth

Ben Wright
On-loan Ben Wright scored one and made one on his Luton Town debut

Ben Wright scored on his first start as managerless Luton Town responded to the midweek departure of Mick Harford by beating in-form Tamworth.

Midfielder Asa Hall put Luton ahead, receiving a pass by Wright, Harford's last signing, to lash in from 12 yards.

Loan signing Wright then doubled the lead five minutes later, curling home an exquisite right-foot drive.

Alex Rodman pulled one back, slotting in Nick Wright's pass, but the Lambs lost for the first time in eight games.

In a thrilling finale, Tom Craddock volleyed over for the Hatters while Bradley Pritchard headed off target at the other end.

But a victory for Lambs old boy Alan Nielson, now Luton's caretaker boss, was enough to lift the Hatters three places up the table and back into the play-off places in fifth spot.
