York 2-2 Cambridge Utd

Michael Gash
Gash joined York from Ebbsfleet for £55,000 in the summer

Michael Gash hit a brace as York City fought back from a goal behind to draw with in-form Cambridge United.

Gash put York ahead in the first half with a close-range finish.

But, with 12 minutes remaining, Jai Reason's shot from the edge of the area levelled the scores to set up a thrilling finale.

Mark Beesley then put the visitors head after firing home from 12 yards before Gash's late header secured a point for the Minstermen.

The result means Cambridge have stretched their unbeaten run to eight games but that run has seen Martin Ling's side draw five of those matches.

York are just one point of the play-off spots having extended their unbeaten start to the season at home to six games.
