Second-half goals from Chris Ademano and Calum Willock fired Crawley to their second win in three games.
The home side took the lead when Ademeno beat two men before slotting past Lee Harper from close range.
Willock doubled Crawley's advantage with a left-foot volley from a Chris Carruthers cross.
Kettering set up a tense finish when Jean-Paul Marner scored late on from the penalty spot after Simon Rayner pulled down Danny Thomas.
