Kent football results and summary

Non League

Cray Wanderers will almost certainly have to settle for a place in the Ryman South play-offs after losing 2-0 to leaders Kingstonian.

The clash of the top two was settled by first-half goals from Simon Huckle and Max Hustwick.

It means Kingstonian lead Cray by six points, and have a better goal difference, with two games to go.

Cray boss Ian Jenkins told BBC Radio Kent: "It's still possible but we're looking at the play-offs now."

He added: "I've said to the players if they (Kingstonian) lose both their games and we win ours by a big margin it's still possible.

"Now we've got to make sure we finish second so we get home advantage, unlike last year, if we are lucky enough to get to the final."

Cray defender Steve Aris said: "That was our worst 45 minutes. We came here fancying our chances massively but we never got started.

"The disappointment of last year is still with the boys. A lot of the players are still here. We have to look at it that if we win four games (including the play-offs) we go up."

Margate gave themselves a fighting chance of remaining in the Ryman Premier Division with a 1-0 win in the Thanet derby against already-relegated Ramsgate.

They have closed the gap to safety to two points with two games to go.

Manager Terry Yorath said: "That's huge, not only for the players but the fans too. They hate Margate-Ramsgate games so it's a big one for them."

VCD Athletic have gone top of the Kent League for the first time this season, beating previous leaders Hythe Town 2-0. Leroy Huggins scored both goals.

VCD manager Paul Foley said: "No-one's won anything today but it's a nice position to be in with two games to go."
