Gainsborough Trinity 0-1 Tamworth

Steve Charles
Charles was disappointed after seeing his side impress in the first half

Gainsborough's hopes of reaching the Blue Square North play-offs were dented after they were beaten by second-placed Tamworth 1-0 at home on Tuesday.

An impressive first-half performance from Luke Beckett saw a goal disallowed and a header cleared off the line.

But the second half saw the visitors improve with Bradley Pritchard scoring a 71st-minute winner.

Manager Steve Charles told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:"I don't often say it, the officials made it difficult for us."

After two good away wins Charles added: "Our home form has let us down a little bit, we need to be more clinical in the final third."

Gainsborough, who have played more games than their play-off rivals are five points off a top-five spot.
