Stevenage Borough progressed to the last 16 of the FA Trophy after a 2-0 victory at Farnborough on Tuesday.

Mark Roberts scored his debut goal on 17 minutes, with Lee Boylan adding a second 10 minutes before the break as Stevenage dominated the first half.

Farnborough rallied in the second half and carved chances, but Marcus Richardson and Rob Saunders both missed opportunities to get back in the game.

Stevenage will face Blue Square Premier leaders Burton on Saturday 31 January.

Stevenage manager Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio: "I thought we were excellent in the first half. We commanded the ball, passed it well, moved them around and scored two very good goals.

"But 2-0 is always a dangerous score-line. You've seen sides come out and nick one. We knew that we just had to make sure that we didn't concede.

"We never got going in the second half and they had their moments."

On the visit of Roy McFarlane and his table topping Burton side, Westley said: "My lad asked me who would we want in the next round and I said Burton at home.

"It is a fantastic draw for us. We have got a great opportunity to take on the league leaders and to show just what progress we have made.

"Roy is an experienced campaigner and he'll know what he is doing. I'm sure it will be a cracking tie and everyone will be looking forward to it."
