Chippenham Town centre-back Cortez Belle has been suspended by the Football Association for an alleged breach of rules.
The defender, who joined the Bluebirds from Northwich for £5,000 in the summer, sat out Saturday's 1-1 Southern Premier League draw with Hitchin.
Investigations are continuing into the 25-year-old ex-Chester man, and Town expect an outcome within two weeks.
It is not thought the alleged incident relates to the Bluebirds.
Meanwhile, the FA will not take any further action against Town after a spectator ran onto the pitch during the FA Trophy game with Heybridge Swifts.
The fan has been banned from Hardenhuish Park after jumping a perimeter wall and chasing an opposition player at the end of the game earlier this month.
Officials at the FA are happy with the club's response.
