King hopes for Clarets response

Chelmsford

Chelmsford City manager Jeff King said he hopes their home defeat to Bath City will serve as a wake-up call.

The Clarets lost 3-2 following what King described as "probably our worst defensive performance of the season".

King told BBC Essex: "We'll have to dust ourselves down, get up and have another go again.

"Sometimes you need a little kick up the backside to make things get back to reality again, so hopefully that's what will happen."

Despite their defeat at the weekend, the Clarets still have a five point lead at the top of the Blue Square South table.

Their two closest challengers, Hayes & Yeading and Maidenhead, also failed to pick up all three points at the weekend.
