Stalybridge snap up new defender

Blue Square North club Stalybridge Celtic have signed former Northwich Victoria and Altrincham defender Richard Battersby.

The 29-year-old moves to Celtic from Unibond League Division One North side Radcliffe Borough, where he had been since being released by Altrincham.

Prior to Altrincham, he made more than 100 appearances for Northwich.

Battersby, who signed for the Vics in 2005 for £5,000, also lists Oldham Athletic among his former clubs.
