Matthew Barnes-Homer's well-worked first-half goal ensured Kidderminster got the better of Oxford in an open game at the Aggborough Stadium.
Oxford started brightly with James Constable going close early on.
But Barnes-Homer expertly traded passes with Justin Richards in the 22th minute before getting on the end of his cross to tuck the ball home at the far post.
Chris Willmott almost bundled home an Oxford equaliser after half-time but the Harriers hung on for victory.
