Braintree boss Lee Patterson believes his side have been better this season than their league position suggests.
The Iron currently sit in 18th place in Blue Square South with just one win to their name.
But Patterson told BBC Essex their position is not a true reflection of their performance so far this season.
"We're being positive in every game and on the balance of play I think we deserve to have seven or eight points more than we've got," he said.
Braintree's only victory in the league came against high-flying Team Bath on Saturday, but Patterson is confident they can soon turn their form around.
"I don't want anyone to feel sorry for us in any way, shape or form," he said.
"We're all in it together and while people outside of the players and the club are maybe having a little wry smile because of the start of our season that just inspires us on."
