McEvilly's strike helped Cambridge to a third victory this season
Lee McEvilly and Wayne Hatswell got the goals as Cambridge maintained their 100% record in the Blue Square Premier.
The hosts dominated the early exchanges and their pressure was rewarded when McEvilly produced a superb finish from 12 yards from Felino Jardim's pass.
Barrow responded well and equalised through Paul Tait's 18-yard header.
However, four minutes later Cambridge went back in front through Wayne Hatswell's long-ranger and they held on to make it three wins from three.
