Barrow 3-0 Oxford

Late goals by Mark Boyd, Steve McNulty and Paul Brown saw Blue Square Premier new-boys Barrow sink Oxford United in their first game of the season.

The U's had James Clarke sent off for a foul on Carlos Logan before half-time but they held out until Boyd opened the scoring with a spectacular free-kick.

McNulty made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after Oxford goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe fouled Matt Henney.

Substitute Brown chipped Hinchliffe to complete the scoring.
