Thomas upbeat on survival hopes

Non-League

Hinckley United boss Dean Thomas is staying positive after seeing his side slip into the drop zone despite a fine 1-1 draw at high-flying Harrogate.

Hucknall beat seemingly doomed Vauxhall Motors - a result which means United are third bottom in Blue Square North.

But Thomas told BBC Radio Leicester: "Things will even out in the next couple of games. It's in our hands.

"We've now got two home games and Hucknall have got tough games against Southport and Nuneaton."

Adam Webster's close-range finish gave the Knitters a fifth-minute lead but home substitute Danny Holland's low shot levelled the scores with 13 minutes remaining.

Thomas added: "We couldn't have done any more. We've worked hard, given it our best shot and would have taken a point at the start of the game."
