Southport 1-2 Dag & Red

Two early goals proved enough for Dagenham & Redbridge against Conference bottom side Southport.

They took just six minutes to take the lead, with Jake Leberl - later sent off - heading in a corner at the far post.

In the 17th minute Craig Mackail-Smith turned the ball in from 12 yards for his sixth goal of the season.

Carl Baker got one back after half-time and the hosts came close with half an hour left, Mark Roberts' powerful header hitting the crossbar.
