Garry Hill has resigned as manager of Hornchurch report BBC Essex.
Hill was previously manager at Conference side Dagenham
The Conference South club were dubbed the 'Chelsea of non-league football' with a full-time squad at the start of the season.
But a financial collapse has meant they have lost their entire playing staff and are struggling for survival.
Hill said: "I've seen everything in football over the last three months - I haven't got anything lined-up, but I want to go back to the Conference."
He added: "It's been a difficult period for everyone and it's now about the club staying alive - over £700,000 worth of creditors have been sorted out this week."
