Goals from Kris Taylor, Craig Dudley and Jon Shaw sealed an emphatic victory for Nigel Clough's Burton.
Taylor gave Albion the lead after 19 minutes when he latched onto Aaron Webster's cross to fire home.
Four minutes after the interval the hosts forged further ahead when Tamika Mkandawire handled in the area and Dudley made no mistake from the spot.
When Tony James brought down Dudley with 15 minutes left, Shaw converted the penalty to seal the points.
