Veteran striker Paul Barnes helped Tamworth win a seven-goal thriller.
David McNiven had put Leigh ahead and although Jamie Brooks levelled, Carl Barrowclough restored Leigh's lead.
But they soon had Carl Rezai sent off for foul and abusive language, before Tony Scully made it 2-2 and Leigh's Andrew Roscoe scored with a free-kick.
But Mark Cooper levelled from the spot and after Wayne Maden's second booking saw Leigh reduced to nine men, Barnes headed the winner in the dying minutes.
