Gravesend recovered from going a goal down in the first minute to gain a vital
point in their fight for Conference survival with a draw at home to Barnet.
Barnet dominated from the start and took the lead when Neil Midgley tucked the
ball into the bottom corner of the net from close range for his fourth goal in
five games.
Gravesend fought back and the equaliser arrived after 25 minutes.
Barnet's
Matthew Langston was booked for a foul on Liam Hatch and from Justin Skinner's
resulting free-kick, Robert Owen played the ball to Hatch who fired home from
the left side of the penalty area.
Barnet soon reasserted their dominance but suffered a huge blow when striker
Frazer Toms was taken off just before the half-hour mark with a serious injury
and had to be replaced by Junior Agogo.
Then against the run of play, midfielder Francis Duku put Gravesend into the
lead with a right-foot finish on the stroke of half-time after the ball had been
nodded on by Jimmy Jackson.
Barnet were finally rewarded for their dominance after 68 minutes when Craig
Pope shot past Paul Wilkerson after being set up by Agogo.
Ishmail Yakabu then missed a chance to win the game for Barnet when he headed
over from six yards.
