Barnet caretaker manager Martin Allen celebrated his second successive victory
as Hereford`s Conference play-off hopes suffered a severe setback with defeat at Underhill.
Neil Midgley opened the scoring for Barnet after only five minutes, firing
home his third goal in two games inside the area from Wayne Purser`s pass.
But Hereford hit back after 20 minutes, Paul Parry
notching
his 10th of the season from the edge of the box.
Barnet had more of the first-half possession but the Bulls had the better
chances, Matthew Clarke and Parry both going close to giving the visitors a
half-time lead.
Purser`s effort issued a reminder to United before the same player missed a
glorious chance to put the Bees back in front, his penalty brilliantly
tipped round the post by Mathew Baker after Ben Smith had fouled Midgley in the
area.
Andrew Tretton missed a good chance from six yards after the break as the
Bulls pressed, but Junior Agogo celebrated his return to the Bees side with the
winner after 68 minutes, volleying home from Mark Gower`s cross.
Parry went closest to levelling soon after but the Bulls rarely threatened
as the Londoners collected a deserved three points.
