Scarborough, who were without a win in six matches, failed to end their poor run
as Barnet put them to the sword with a convincing home victory.
Barnet had an excellent chance to go ahead after 16 minutes when Wayne Purser
swung over a cross from the left to Greg Heald.
But his header was brilliantly
tipped over by Leigh Walker.
The home side did take the lead after 22 minutes when Wayne Purser sent
over a corner which Jason Soloman met with a crisp volley.
Cleveland Taylor nearly put Scarborough level after 29 minutes with an
outstanding 35-yard volley that went agonisingly wide.
And he had another good effort at goal three minutes later but his shot was
comfortably saved by Danny Naisbitt.
Barnet extended their lead 10 minutes into the second half when Lee Pluck
crossed from the right to John Doolan, who drilled the ball home with a
well-struck long-range effort.
But Scarborough refused to let their heads drop and Mohammed Sillah could have
put them back into the game after 61 minutes but his header went wide.
Walker then kept Boro in the game with a fine save, palming away a stinging
free-kick by Lee Flynn.
However, Barnet's dominance eventually told again with 68 minutes gone when
Soloman headed the ball on to Toby Oshitola, who nodded it in from close range
to round off an impressive display.
