Stevenage 3-1 Nuneaton

Stevenage produced a stirring second-half comeback to earn a vital home win over Nuneaton.

Robin Trott's header, a close-range effort from Stuart Fraser and a Justin Richards curler cancelled out Carl Alford's opener for Nuneaton.

Stevenage almost took the lead when Richards' shot was blocked by goalkeeper Chris MacKenzie and the striker then hit a 30-yard effort over the crossbar.

The visitors hit back when Andy Ducros sent over an inswinging corner and Alford headed the ball home at the far post after 22 minutes.

Nuneaton almost doubled their advantage two minutes later when Mark McGregor hammered a shot against the woodwork.

Simon Wormull hit a weak shot from 35 yards for Stevenage but home goalkeeper Mark Westhead then had to keep out headers from McGregor and Daire Doyle.

Defender Fraser levelled for Stevenage from inside the area three minutes after the break.

Trott cemented the comeback when he headed home a corner from Wormull after 57 minutes and Richards grabbed the third Stevenage goal when he curled home a fantastic shot from the left after 68 minutes.

Jon Dyson headed wide as Nuneaton tried in vain to find a way back into the game.
