Southport 1-1 Scarborough

Ten-man Scarborough came from behind to snatch a point from fast-fading Southport with a draw at Haig Avenue.

Boro midfielder Olivier Brassart's effort cancelled out Steve Soley's opener for the hosts.

Southport, who have now gone six Conference games without a win, looked to be heading in the right direction when Soley headed his seventh goal of the season after 24 minutes.

Boro's Nick Henry had just had a long shot saved by Steve Dickinson when Howell supplied the cross at the other end and Soley headed the ball into the bottom corner of the net from close range.

The hosts' position of authority looked to be further strengthened six minutes into the second half when Boro frontman Keith Scott was shown the red card for a foul on Soley, his second bookable offence.

But with Southport 20 minutes away from a long overdue three points, Brassart collected the ball outside the area and found the the bottom corner of the net with a superb strike.

Brassart, substitute Jason Blunt, Gareth Stoker and David Pounder all tried to steal the points for the visitors

And Soley, Steve Jones and Steve Pickford replied in kind, but the teams had to settle for a point each.

Southport: Dickinson, Moore, Clark, Winstanley, Lane, Pickford, Soley, Gibson, Howell, Steve Jones, Edwards. Subs: Welsby, Whitehall, Scott, James Connolly, Nolan.

Scarborough: Woods, Hotte, Sheppherd, Dryden, Pounder, Stoker, Brassart, Henry, Ormerod, Campbell, Scott. Subs: Rose, Sillah, Mallon, Blunt, Walker.
