Yeovil 2-1 Stevenage

Yeovil went six points clear at the top of the Conference courtesy of their win against Stevenage.

Goals from former Stevenage striker Kirk Jackson and Colin Pluck were enough to earn the Glovers three points and extend Stevenage's miserable run to nine games without a win.

Jackson, who left Broadhall Way for Yeovil in a 10,000 deal last month, put the Glovers ahead when he scored with a fine left-foot strike.

Two minutes before half-time, Stevenage drew level when Martin Williams lashed the ball home from close range.

However, their joy was short-lived as Pluck climbed to head home Michael McIndoe's well-flighted free-kick.

Borough's task was made more difficult when Sam McMahon was sent off 15 minutes from the end as Yeovil held on for the win.

Yeovil: Weale, Lockwood, Skiverton, Pluck, O'Brien, McIndoe, Johnson, Way, Crittenden, Williams, Jackson. Subs: Lindegaard, Grant, Collis, Elkholti, Aggrey.

Stevenage: Westhead, Jamie Campbell, Stirling, Gary MacDonald, Travis, Fraser, McMahon, Scott, Bell, Richards, Williams. Subs: Goodliffe, Wilson, Dudley Campbell, Midson, Blackwood.

Referee: R East (Wilton)
