Stevenage 0-1 Burton Albion

Christian Moore's 10th goal of the season was enough to give Burton Albion the three points against Stevenage at Broadhall Way.

The striker powerfully headed home Craig Dudley's exquisite cross in the 48th minute to earn the Brewers the spoils.

Nigel Clough's side had the first opportunity after four minutes with Darren Stride heading over following a teasing cross from Paul Talbot.

The visitors again went close when Mark Westhead had to be alert to save Neil Glasser's header following Christian Moore's corner.

Stevenage, with only one win in six games, found it hard to breach Burton's defence in the first half.

Michael Blackwood had their best chance but his effort was saved by Matt Duke in the 28th minute.

Just before the break Moore almost put the visitors ahead, but Westhead acrobatically tipped his effort round the post.

After Moore's strike, the hosts attempted to move up a gear and Richard Paquette almost brought them level with a fantastic header in the 66th minute but his effort struck the woodwork.

Then Burton almost sealed the points with Westhead producing a stunning save to deny Glasser.

In the 69th minute, Blackwood was left to rue his luck when his drilled effort was superbly saved by Duke, while four minutes later Clough's spectacular effort hit the crossbar.

Simon Wormull almost put Borough on terms in the 89th minute only to be brillantly denied by Duke.

Jamie Campbell was sent-off for the hosts in the 90th minute after a bad foul on Clough.
