Yeovil 3-0 Halifax

Nick Crittenden's brace of penalties helped Yeovil go second in the Nationwide Conference with a home victory over Halifax in a match that had three players sent off.

Crittenden tucked away his second penalty after 73 minutes when Halifax goalkeeper Lee Butler was dismissed for hauling down Glovers front man Abdoulai Demba.

Demba was then shown the red card for foul and abusive language and was followed down the tunnel by team-mate Terry Skiverton for violent conduct.

Yeovil started brightly and Demba forced a good save from Butler in the seventh minute and narrowly headed wide from Howard Forinton's right-wing cross six minutes later.

Halifax struggled to get into the game and it was no surprise when Yeovil went ahead.

Crittenden blasted the ball home from the spot after 41 minutes when dangerous Demba was brought down by Shaun Garnett, with the former Tranmere defender cautioned for his offence.

A minute later, Gavin Williams extended the advantage when he curled a superb effort into the top corner of the net from 25 yards.

Yeovil continued to dominate after the break and Forinton headed narrowly wide from Crittenden's cross after 48 minutes.

Halifax had to wait until the 80th minute before their first meaningful effort on goal but Steve Kerrigan sent his header over the crossbar.
