Doncaster maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a narrow victory over Farnborough at Belle Vue.

Christian Lee had a golden opportunity for Farnborough after 18 minutes but his left-foot shot from six yards failed to hit the target.

Lenny Piper also headed over the crossbar from close range as the visitors continued to threaten but Paul Barnes missed a penalty for Doncaster after 25 minutes after Gary Holloway had handled.

However, the hosts finally broke the deadlock after 63 minutes when Francis Tierney headed the ball home from Dean Barrick's cross.
