Margate 0-1 Yeovil
E-mail your reaction to Football Talk Yeovil returned to winning ways as defender Colin Pluck headed his first goal for the club in a 1-0 win against Margate at Hartsdown Park. The visitors created the first opportunity when Kim Grant's right-foot shot from the edge of the area was superbly tipped around the post by Margate goalkeeper Lee Turner. They broke the deadlock after 21 minutes when Michael McIndoe's cross from the left was headed home by 23-year-old Pluck, who joined the club from Dover in the summer. Striker Phil Collins and Graham Porter had Margate's best chances but both spurned opportunities to grab an equaliser. Gary Johnson's side, who had slipped to 10th in the table at the start of play after a run of six Conference games without a win, held out with Lee Johnson imperious in defence. Margate: Turner, Blackford, Beard, Edwards, Williams, Porter, Graham, Lamb, Saunders, Collins, Braithwaite. Subs: Munday, Sodje, Hilaire, Hafner, Mitten. Yeovil: Weale, Lockwood, Tonkin, Johnson, Pluck, Grant, Stansfield, Thompson, McIndoe, Alford, Crittenden. Subs: Haveron, Lindegaard, Poole, Giles, Collis. Referee: K Stroud (Bournemouth).
