Dag & Red 0-0 Telford
Dagenham and Telford played out a goalless draw, with two players taken to hospital following a clash of heads.

Daggers skipper Lee Matthews and Telford wingback Kevin Sandwith suffered severe head gashes and concussion having been laid out for around five minutes.

On the field, the game burst into action at the end of the opening quarter.

Midfielder Matt Jones hit a dipping effort that beat Ryan Price in the Telford goal and hit a post after 15 minutes.

And one minute later Price made a spectacular point-blank stop to keep out a Tony Lock header from close-range.

Telford looked dangerous on the break and they too hit the woodwork when a powerful headed effort from Jim Bentley clipped the post before going wide.

Dagenham threatened to take control of the game with a very strong start to the second half.

Striker Danny Shipp was inches away on two occasions with strong volleys.

Although little was seen of Telford as an attacking force after the break, they could have won the match with a 76th-minute header from their skipper Neil Moore.

He met a left-wing corner and headed powerfully past home goalkeeper Tony Roberts only to see the effort hit team-mate Chris Malkin and deflect wide of the post.

After the unfortunate clash of heads between Matthews and Sandwith nine minutes from time, neither side seemed to have much of an appetite for finding a winner.

But in the game's closing minutes, Telford substitute Scott Huckerby fashioned an opening for fellow sub Mark Albrighton to hit a tremendous drive - but it was straight at home keeper Roberts.

Dag & Red: Roberts, Rooney, Broom, Wignall, Matthews, Terry, Gallagher, Heffer, Shipp, Lock, Jones. Subs: Cole, Brennan, Cobb, McDougald, Goodwin.

Telford: Price, Jobling, Davies, Moore, Bentley, Fowler, Preece, McGorry, Murphy, Malkin, Sandwith. Subs: Huckerby, Williams, Martindale, Jake Edwards, Albrighton.

Referee: R Desmond (Swindon).
