Dortmund snatch away win
Borussia Dortmund players celebrate victory over Lokomotiv
Dortmund players celebrate victory over Lokomotiv
Lokomotiv Moscow 1-2 Borussia Dortmund

Jan Koller scored the winner as Borussia Dortmund beat new Russian champions Lokomotiv Moscow in Group C of the Champions League.

The match was played in freezing temperatures at Lokomotiv stadium and neither team dominated the early stages.

Though five minutes into the game, striker James Obiorah missed a clear chance to give the home side an early lead.

The Nigerian international dribbled past two defenders to go one-on-one with Dortmund goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, who managed to fist away Obiorah's lobbing kick.

Defender Sergei Ignashevich opened the scoring for the Russian side in the 31st minute, firing a shot past the diving Lehmann.

However, two minutes later, Dortmund midfielder Torsten Frings silenced the celebrating crowd of 15,000 by heading in an equalizer off a cross from Tomas Rosicky.

With the quick goal, the German champions seized the initiative and two minutes before the interval, Czech international striker Koller gave Dortmund the lead.

His left-footed strike from close range was his fourth goal in seven games.

After the break, Dortmund fully controlled the game in the centre of the pitch and denied Lokomotiv's attempts to threaten the German goal.
